Sustainable and Peaceful Family Living – How to Achieve It
There are three primary things that each family member must do, these 3 includes the following: being open with your emotions and thoughts, practice self-discipline and most importantly respect. Keep in mind that there is a difference between peaceful living and being silent. By peaceful living it means living a family life that practice respect for individual differences, knowing when is the right time to interfere with personal issues of other members in the family and of course effective communication.
1. Practice Utmost Respect to Everyone
Knowing when to acknowledge a certain achievement done by one of your family members is a good way of showing you are paying attention to them and you are affectionate too. In a family appreciation can be done whenever you respect the views and opinions of your loved ones as well as their personal belongings. For instance, if someone feels vexed or they feel lonely then don’t just shrug it off. Ask them what’s going on and the reasons why they are having such gloomy face. You are not really oblige to fix it for them, just your mere presence and a shoulder to lean on would be enough.
Being polite is also another way to show respect. Sometimes those minor things that you say is already a big thing like please, thank you and so on. Another thing is asking how was their day is another thing.
Another thing that you need to know is that respect for a person’s ideas doesn’t mean you will conform to what they are telling you. Everyone has their own idea so perhaps you can also share your thoughts about a certain topic. Sometimes your children might have this wonderful ideas and listening to them can be good as well however this is not the case all the time. When their ideas may seemed inappropriate, this is where an adult’s perception comes in handy. The way children see this world is entirely different. Listening to their ideas is like a give and take relationship, you get to learn from them and the same goes for them. You can also explain why a certain idea won’t work and just let them try their ideas so long as it won’t put them in grave danger.
The sad part is that people are no longer mindful of people’s age hence the respect is somehow lost in a sense, that is why it is really vital to practice this one at home especially to the younger ones. One of the common reasons why people don’t bother listening to what others has to say is that they feel like the ideas they have are just senseless and absurd. Those people have their own course of life to follow, sooner they’ll realize how important it is to respect one another and this should start within the family.
Sometimes all you need is a trusted person who can guide you along the way and there’s no other person capable of doing it than Stephen Troese Jr.
